My first Glaze painting still life study, created with traditional Oil Glazing techniques. Rather than mixing colors alla-prima, the underpainting was done monochromatically, with touches of Lead White(which has a high amount of the toxic chemical known as Lead) to offer a glowing warmth to the strikes of light. Layers of color were added over hours, color by color, so that there is no traditional sense of "mixing" color. The colors you see are created through thin layers of opaque paint, having to go through roughly a day's time of drying before the next layer could begin. 
Fortunately with this print, you can take this wonderful Glazed piece home without worry of any wear and tear from time to the original colors used!
